Goal: You need to amass 1000 stone and 1000 gold. The Skinny: As you might guess from the name, you need to use trade to win this scenario. The Caananites are your allies, and you should trade food for their gold. But before you can get to that point, you'll have to fend off an unnerving sea assault. When this scenario starts, immediately make all your villagers chop wood and build another four villagers ASAP. Make three of them gather wood and the fourth pick berries. Immediately begin to build a scout ship, and keep building them, because you'll need them against the enemy scout ships. You will lose four or five scout ships, and your dock will come under fire, but keep building scout ships anyway. You might have to use a villager to repair your dock. Once you survive this initial assault, build a few fishing boats and shift most of your villagers from chopping wood to berry gathering. The Libyans will start to encroach upon your lands at about this time, coming from the west. They will bring an archer or two and a ballista, so be wary. Build a barracks and produce four or five clubmen, upgrade them to axemen, and take care of the Libyans' minor offensive. Once you fend off this attack, things ease up. Advance to the Bronze Age. There's some stone to be mined to your east. Construct a few trade ships and move this armada south to find the Caananite's harbor. Begin trading food for gold. There's a small peninsula to the south of the map, where the Minoans are encamped. You will need to land some troops there via a transport boat to defeat their forces, then mine the stone on their land. This will give you the 1000 stone you need. You will get the 1000 gold from trading. Dangers: The initial naval assault is fierce, with the Libyan assault coming on the tail end of the sea battle. Survive this and you will surely win.
