Chapter Seven: Wonders Hagia Sophia Age: Ancient Temple and cathedrals keep your citizens happy; if you believe the resources required to construct and maintain the houses of worship are worth it, Hagia Sophia might be right for you. Keep in mind that a theocratic government is required before you discover this wonder. If you switch out of theocracy after constructing this wonder, you'll lose all its benefits (which could be plenty, considering you spent oodles of resources building those temples). Converting cities with Hagia Sophia can be a profitable business (40 percent of the converted city will end up in your coffers), but there are cheaper and easier ways to keep your citizens happy. Only discover this wonder if you plan on using its full potential (and staying theocratic for a long time).
Age: Modern Because your foreign rivals must have working television sets in their cities, don't bother with the Hollywood wonder if you are well ahead of them in technology. If you are ahead, just keep staying ahead and don't bother with Hollywood. But, if you are aware that foreign civilizations have placed television sets in their cities, constructing this wonder could mean an effortless revenue stream that lasts for quite awhile (Hollywood doesn't become obsolete until alien archeology is discovered). Extra gold is always helpful, whether it be for expanding your empire, rush-buying new wonders or improvements or sustaining your military.
