Chapter Two: Units

Swarm

Requires: Asteroid mining
Cost: 5,250

Assault: 20
Ranged Strength: 0
Defense: 20
Vision: 1
Movement Points: 3
Support: 158
Abilities: Moves through land, water, and space

These babies descend from space like paratroopers, making them an excellent unit for surprising your enemy. Unlike the paratrooper, however, the swarm immediately bypasses any and all air defenses in the targeted city and gets right to work chewing up any enemy units that are unfortunate enough to be standing in the way. The swarm can also travel over water and land, making it one of the more useful and versatile military units in the game. Build an army of these guys and mow right through enemy towns with ease.

Tank

Requires: Tank warfare
Cost: 2,000

Assault: 16
Ranged Strength: 16
Defense: 10
Vision: 2
Movement Points: 6
Support: 60

During the modern age, the most powerful unit you can get your hands on is the tank. With a solid defense and offense as well as a quick movement rate, the tank should be your front-line unit for defending your cities, closing off chokepoints on the map, and taking over enemy cities. Since the support cost is pretty low, you can amass quite a few tanks for your arsenal.

Televangelist

Requires: Mass media, theocracy
Cost: 1,000

Defense: 1
Vision: 2
Movement Points: 5
Support: 30
Abilities: Converts cities, sells indulgences, soothsays

Similar to the cleric but existing in the modern age, the televangelist can convert targeted cities to your cause, forcing the citizens of that city to offer you gold every turn. You can make some money by selling indulgences, but the drawback is that you'll raise the happiness level of the targeted city. If you're hard pressed for a steady income, unleash several of these units on the richer enemies out there and target the largest cities you can find. Eventually, you'll be making a tidy sum of money from converted cities - money you can sink into building up your military or infrastructure.
