War Walker Requires: Robotics Assault: 12 Tired of enemy planes nailing your units and cities? Consider investing in some war walkers, robotic units that not only sport great close-combat abilities, but also can take out any and all incoming planes with ease. The war walker can also throw up a lethal bombardment campaign when it's not shooting down planes, making this a very versatile unit that is quick on its feet and cheap to support, though not entirely cheap to build. Use the war walker to protect your largest cities and rest easy when enemy planes come buzzing overhead.
Requires: Toolmaking Assault: 1 The grunt of the game and cannon fodder, the warrior's only advantage is its increased vision that can at least give you some advance warning of enemy activity. Unfortunately, the warrior doesn't put up much of a fight, so don't be surprised if you lose these units rather quickly. If nothing else, use warriors as a primitive radar stations, placing them at chokepoints and along the coast so you have advance warning of enemy activity.
Requires: Wormholes Defense: 3 Once the wormhole sensor wonder has been created, you can use this very expensive unit to enter the wormhole and retrieve alien DNA in support of your alien life project research. Why is this important? Because you can win the game by finally completing the alien life project, and the wormhole probe will accelerate that process. It's not so important if your civilization is way ahead of everyone else, but if you're in a heated contest with a foreign nation, the wormhole probe could very well make the difference between success or failure.
