Space Plane Requires: Advanced
composites Defense: 3 The space plane is not an offensive or defensive unit, but a glorified transport ship used to transfer small boats as well as land, air, and space units. Since this unit has no attack capability, make sure it has an escort while moving around, preferably a space fighter or two.
Requires: Nationalism Defense: 1 This is an important unit and one that should be a permanent part of your operations. The spy has many functions, some of which can severally turn the tide of your campaign. For instance, if you find yourself slogging behind in technology, send a spy to an enemy city and attempt to steal technology that you have yet to research. The spy has a 25 percent of being successful when attempting to incite a revolution, and, if successful, the targeted city will revolt and form their own government, that is, the enemy loses that city. If you're feeling rather nasty, you could always plant a nuke within an enemy city, severely decreasing the population, making people unhappy, and destroying units surrounding the city. Alternatively, if the enemy is pestering you with spy insurgencies, you'll want to fight fire with fire by nailing enemy spies with your own.
Requires: AI surveillance Defense: 2 If you want to uncover a large portion of the a previously undiscovered game map, a spy plane is your ticket to success. Able to fly for a stunning ten turns and see in five-tile increments, the spy plane will quickly uncover large chunks of the map. The only drawback is that the spy plane is incapable of protecting itself, so don't be surprised if it doesn't last long in the air. With careful maneuvering you can uncover the entire map in short order, giving you a valuable informational advantage.
