Chapter Two: Units

Legion

Requires: Iron working
Cost: 200

Assault: 2
Ranged Strength: 0
Defense: 2
Vision: 1
Movement Points: 1
Support: 6

Cheap to build and support, the legion is an effective invasion unit when you have them in large numbers. Able to cut through an enemy's phalanx and mounted archer units, the legion is a powerful unit in the early portion of the game. Consider building large armies of legion units and quickly launch assaults on enemy territory.

Leviathan

Requires: Fusion
Cost: 9,000

Assault: 40
Ranged Strength: 40
Defense: 40
Vision: 3
Movement Points: 1 (see below)
Support: 270
Abilities: Active defense against air and space

All you need is one of these in one of your cities to pump up your ego. Incredibly slow in movement (they can only move one tile per turn), the leviathan excels at sitting on its butt and kicking the hell out of anyone foolish enough to attack it. The leviathan is best used by placing it in a fortified position either inside a city or right on the outskirts. The enemy will need one impressive invasion force if it intends to get through this mother. Due to the high cost, don't expect to have a stable of these guys sitting around your bases, so build them for your most critical assets.

Longship

Requires: Hullmaking
Cost: 720

Assault: 2
Ranged Strength: 0
Defense: 2
Vision: 1
Movement Points: 3
Support: 22
Abilities: Carries up to two land units

A step up from the trireme, the longship packs a little offensive power (enough to handle any opposing trireme) as well as increased movement and cargo space. Once you have the ability to construct a longship, get rid of all your slow trireme's and replace them with this unit. Last, unlike the trireme, the longship doesn't need to end its turn next to the coast, so this unit will open up the deeper waters, giving you easier access to other continents.
