Invisibility works well to remain out of sight of any attackers and lets you get blows in first, especially to warrior players who use block effectively. Use invisibility in team games, such as capture the flag, to sneak by defenses undetected. Realize, though, that the warrior possesses the eyes of the wolf special ability, which can be used to temporarily spot invisible wizards.
Chase enemies into a structure and cast lock on the door. Make sure the structure has windows, and you can fire inside with wands and spells. It's not a particularly fun situation for the trapped enemy!
Conjurer
Somewhat a mix between the warrior and the wizard, the conjurer can use certain ranged weapons, such as bows and crossbows, but also has the ability to cast spells. A unique ability of the conjurer is that he can summon and charm creatures and bombers, somewhat like mobile wizard traps. The conjurer can equip the bomber with three different spells; like the wizard spells, though, only a certain number of particular spells can be active at a given time. If there are more, you could have bomber duds.
Put spell combinations inside bombers that will have devastating results. For instance, the conjurer's stun spell works well with just about anything; stun prevents the target from moving. Combine stun with toxic cloud (poisonous cloud forms around the position) and fist of vengeance (giant stone fist crashes down on spot) for nearly complete annihilation. Stun or slow and meteor and poison also work well.
The conjurer can summon creatures as well as bombers. While many players set the creatures on hunt, meaning they'll go out on their own and seek targets, you can also set creatures and bombers on escort. This way, the creatures or bombers will actually defend you. If an enemy gets close or attacks, the creatures or bombers will attack.
