Tricks, Bombers, and Traps
In any Nox multiplayer game, but particularly arena (deathmatch), king of the realm, and elimination, you must go toe-to-toe with other skilled players of the same class and different classes. Following, you'll find some tips on scoring strongly in each of Nox's three classes.
Warrior
Berserker charge, berserker charge, and some more berserker charge. Using the warrior well requires a low ping. Scoring blows with both melee and ranged weapons and the berserker charge certainly requires low latency and not a whole lot of lag. Look for opportunities to berserker charge opponents, particularly wizard spellcasters who must stand still a moment to cast their spells. Any opponent not running around much also creates an easy target.
One of the keys to using the warrior well in multiplayer is blowing shots with shields and great swords. Most spells can be deflected; simply stand still in the direction of the spellcaster. Without blocking, the warrior likely wouldn't survive against the wizard and conjurer. War cry also proves invaluable; use war cry to dissipate active spells, stun spellcasters, and defuse bombers. War cry's single downside is the commotion it causes on the current screen; learn to recover quickly and follow up the war cry with a charge or melee attack.
Learn the shortcut key for the harpoon. Though it's more difficult to pull off than other warrior maneuvers, the harpoon latches onto an enemy and pulls him toward you. Follow up the harpoon with a berserker charge or swift melee attack for lots of damage. You can also use the harpoon to drag enemies over dangerous environmental conditions, such as lava pools or spikes.
To perform well with the warrior, you must take the time to collect armor and weapons upon respawning. The warrior begins nearly naked; look around for decent armor and weaponry before seeking out targets. Also, grab health potions and use them to replenish health during combat situations.
Ranged weapons work well, particularly in tight hallways, but are much more difficult in open areas. Look for opportunities to corner enemy players or chase them into structures and halls. Practice conserving your ranged weapons until you have the best possible shot at your enemy.
Wizard
Part of using the wizard well is creating effective traps. You don't want to waste spells on traps that won't kill or at least inflict tons of damage on an enemy player. Traps can hold three spells, and there are limitations on how many of a certain spell can be active at any given time. Plus, each trap must contain different spells. Here's where the spell combinations come into play. Carefully select the wizard's spell traps so you can inflict the most damage possible.
Slow is one of the best spells to use in a trap; when affected, the target moves slowly for a brief amount of time. Used in a trap, this would mean the target couldn't escape whatever other punishments you include inside. Potential combos with slow could be the powerful obliteration for damage or teleport to send the target to a designated marker. Position the marker in a lava pit or over a spike trap to cause your enemy serious headache.
