Quest: Discover the Fate of Horvath's Apprentice Talk to him again, and he will reward you with a lesser heals spell, which will again automatically transfer into your spell slots. As you leave his house and enter the woods to the northeast, be prepared to use this spell as a backup to your magic missiles. Urchins in the woods will beset you, but if you keep running and firing, you will escape with little harm. Up against Horvath's fence to the south of the clearing is hidden a potion of restore mana. The C key is a shortcut for using such potions, although simply waiting will also (slowly) restore your mana. Always take the time to explore your surroundings; for example, up against the north part of the fencing is a pot of gold and in the clearing is a stump. To your northeast, you will find a circular elevator, which leads down. At the bottom is a pile of mana crystals, which will regenerate your mana if you stand next to them. Through the door to your northeast is an urchin guarding a robed man who is inside a locked gate. His moans sound friendly, so you will want to get inside and talk to him. The other nearby urchin guards may take a toll on your mana, but remember that you can often backtrack to the last pile of mana crystals and regenerate it without using potions. Travel to your northeast (pausing to enter a doorway on the south wall) to a room full of barrels. Break open all the barrels, and among the goodies you will find an urchin beast scroll. (A hint for opening multiple barrels: breaking them all open before starting to gather the contents might be easier on your fingers.)
