Quest: Retrieve the Weirdling Beast from the Depths of the Temple
You'll encounter a boulder blocking the hallway to the northeast. Push the boulder along and try to avoid falling through any hole in the floor. If you do, just locate the elevator below and ride back up. You must face some monsters in the pit, though, as punishment for falling through. At the end of the hall, you'll reach an intersection leading to the left and right of your position.
Head to the left first and leap over the floor traps. The door closes behind you, and many bats attack from the corners of the room. Defeat the bats and exit to the northwest. You'll spot the gold key at the end of the room; cages filled with bombers flank the path to the key. As soon as you get the key, the bombers are released and attack. Be ready with your restore health potions. Grab the gold key and proceed down the lift at the end.
Go southeast through this dark cavern. The bright, stone altar formations generate monsters. You can avoid them by not getting too close; but if you do, just deal with each creature as it's created and continue onward. Your eventual goal lies to the east and winds around south to another lift. You can locate a few secrets here also; for instance, push a boulder to the northeast to reveal some gold.
Ride up the lift and proceed southeast down the hall. Watch the brief cutscene of the unusual eyeball creature - called a beholder. Exit into a small treasure room. You're back at the intersection you were at before. Go through the right door now. Open the gold gate at the end. A storage room lies to the south with goodies. Continue northeast and leap over the floor plate traps. Push another boulder through a hall and avoid falling through the holes in the floor. If you do, locate a lift to the southeast.
