Chapter 8 - The Weirdling
You now have a powerful melee weapon, but the captain goes one step further and gives you the ability to summon beasts. Drag the beast glyphs from your book of knowledge into your spell belts, then summon them as if casting a spell.
Quest: Request Passage to the Temple of Ix from Aldwyn the Conjurer
The captain will instruct you to find Aldwyn. Go into the city and restock. Aldwyn is in a building to the far northeast of this map, near the gateway to the temple, which will be locked until you speak with him.
Quest: Speak to One of the Priests within the Temple of Ix
Aldwyn will give you a key to the gate. Go back outside the house and head southwest to the gate. Through the gate to the temple, you will wind your way through a tunnel populated by bears. At the far end is a clearing, which leads to an impressive door. Walk through it, and a priest will speak to you.
Quest: Retrieve the Weirdling Beast from the Depths of the Temple
Descend the staircase, and you will find yourself facing a very long tunnel blocked by a boulder. Push the boulder to the far end (if you fall through a hole, make your way southwest by breaking walls). You emerge into a large room.
From this room, your way southeast is blocked by a door that requires a gold key. Northwest leads eventually to the gold key, although your way back is blocked by sliding stones. When you get the gold key, bombers will attack you, but you can defeat them by jumping the arrow trap by the entrance. Now, return to the gold key room and go past the spot where the key had been into a small room that has an elevator leading down.
