Chapter 4 - Beneath the Field of Valor The captain drops you off beside a shopkeeper and bids you enter the tomb to your southeast and look for signs of Hecubah's presence. Repair your equipment and do as he says. Quest: Search the Tomb of Valor for Traces of Hecubah's Presence The tomb is a collection of gates and crypts that is maze-like enough to require heavy use of the mini-map. In the southern most area of the first large room is a very narrow passage behind a crypt that leads down to a fairly secret area that is guarded by spiked crushers. Along the northwest wall of the first large room is a gate behind which lies a spell book of lightning. A hole in the floor to the northeast leads to the next area. Here's a toasty way to kill zombies, but it offers no experience points. Down on this level, skeletons are hiding in coffins and behind breakaway walls for you. They are best defeated with the lightning spell. Since the lightning spell costs no mana when it has no target, cast it when you open coffins to get the drop on the hidden skeletons; minimize the damage on your weapon by merely peering into the breakaway walls and grabbing what's there without striking the walls. A passageway to the north leads to a room lined with stone gargoyles that has a coffin at one end. Inside is a fiery beast, which will die if fed enough lightning. Drop down the hole in one corner of this room and make your way to an elevator, which will take you to the far side of a locked gate. Moving through the gate to your northwest, you will find yourself in a large square room with gates leading in the other three directions.
