Chapter 2 - The Gauntlet Quest: Survive the Gauntlet Head toward the northwest and speak with Horrendous, who confirms your mission to enter and survive the dangers of the gauntlet. Proceed past Horrendous into the northwest door. When you reach the first hall with metal gates on its sides, bust the southern gate to find a secret area with leather boots. As you continue through the hall, you'll eventually reach the gauntlet entrance with Bennett and another candidate. Watch the brief cutscene of the candidate entering the gauntlet and getting torn to pieces. Enter the gate and follow the tunnel as it winds to the southwest. Avoid the spiked clamps by running quickly. The next large room contains a lever in its center; pull the lever. Spiders emerge from a secret room; kill the spiders and get the gold inside the secret room. Exit through the door on the northwest. The next area contains a series of flame jets on the floor. Observe the pattern of the flame jets and run across when you won't get damaged. Continue through the halls to the northeast. You'll reach another room with a lever in its center. Pull the lever; two urchins are released from different parts of the room. Corner each urchin inside its cubbyhole and kill it with your weapon. Rummage the room for gold and food items. Exit through the door to the northeast. Eventually, you'll reach a room with a fireball shooting from the northern part of the hall. You must venture down the hall, toward the southeast, and use the small alcoves to avoid the fast, repeating fireball blast. Kill the spiders on the other side of the steel fence and grab the bottle of cure poison at the end of the hall. You'll also find some food inside barrels just south of the poison potion.
