For armor and weapons, you should probably stick to repairing what you've got. If you can afford a better sword, go for it, particularly early in the game. As you reach the later levels, you'll likely find better swords and axes to use. Keep armor repaired, particularly your best suit, and any other specialized items you prefer - such as anti-poison cloaks or anti-zap breastplates or helmets.
Later in the game, as you face tougher creatures, consider spending most gold on shuriken; the ranged weapons come in handy versus the spellcasters and tougher foes you'll face in the last few chapters.
Specific Battle Strategies
You'll encounter many different creatures through your battles. Though most can be disposed of with a few swings of a sword or blows from shuriken, some require additional tactics. Following are some of the more common and noteworthy foes you'll encounter through Nox.
Zombies
Loads of hit points, high durability, and the ability to get up from a fight make the zombie a foe to look out for. Plus, zombies can poison you, causing even more headache. What's the best way to deal with a zombie? Well, if it's not blocking a lift or doorway, just run around it. If not, you can pummel it with a hit-and-run attack method. But don't wander around its body again, or it'll get up, and you might have to face it again. Alternatively, you can use a flame or ember weapon, which incinerates the beast instead of knocking it down.
Necromancers
One of the first troublesome enemies you'll face is the necromancer - don't expect to face only one, you'll encounter many others, including multiple necromancers at once! Ranged weaponry is the key to taking out the necromancers. Try not to trigger them and engage from long range; get in as many hits as possible before they attack. Use your war cry to stun their spell abilities and use shields to deflect spell attacks.
