Chapter Six: Terrain Improvements

Mega Undersea Mines

Requires: Future sea 2
Cost: 2,200-2,800
Time: 2
Gives: +90/+120/+150 production; +15 gold

The ultimate in mining technology, the mega undersea mine can deliver up to a +150 production modifier per turn, making the associated city a real powerhouse in military unit deployment. Just a couple of these will find you pumping out advanced units with alarming speed, letting you quickly overrun your opponent with units. Better still, because the mega undersea mine is underwater, it is far easier to protect with a simple ship patrolling the waters - something you'll want to do, considering the cost of this improvement.

Mines

Requires: Mining
Cost: 300-400
Time: 2
Gives: +5/+10/+15 production; +5 gold

The first unit in mining technology you'll receive is the humble mine. Though it may appear insignificant in relation to units later in the game, you should seriously consider building as many mines as you possibly can in the early portion of the game. Having plenty of mines ensures that you can generate sizable production points, letting you quickly manufacture new units far more quickly than you normally can. Mines are a frequent target of the enemy, so make sure you take the time to protect your assets with a fortified unit.
