Report
The Peloponnesian War, part 2
Taras,
Greece, 474BC
--- Yuck. After spending 10 years here, I wish I'd sent my apprentice
here instead of insisting that I cover this story myself. As soon
as I arrived, I checked my sources in Sardis and Delos, and was
dismayed to see that, despite our sacrifices made in bringing them
under our control, they were once again opposing us. Excuse me if
I make this report brief so I can get out of this horrid place.
I
saw fleece and wine being sold, and my Trade Ministry sources tell
me we provited military aid to others, as well as supplying money
and wine on demand. Poor Hercules failed to help Corinth take Athens,
and soon after, a tidal wave swamped the 2 central islands, killing
the 100 or so sheep who were on there.
On
his return from grabbing the mares, Hercules reported that he'd
found tihe city of Odessos. We promptly attacked w/ Herc, 1 horeseman
company (the weapons were gifted from Sparta) and aid from Sparta
itself, and lost. Odessos attacked, but we were able to bribe their
troops to stay away. 2 attacks later, we were finally able to reduce
the citizens of Odessos to eternal helotry.
Finally.
End of report. Time to go home (long overdue, if you ask me).
Sparta5,
Greece, 471BC
--- Once again, the power of Spartan arms has proved too much for
Greece, with Delos, Athens, Marathon and Eretria falling to us in
quick succession. Only sending our military to aid Taras, who were
being attacked by Acusilaus of Amphipolis, slowed our conquest of
Greece. As soon as we could, we sent our troops against Amphipolis
(aided by Taras, of course). Let this be a warning to any insolent
barbarians who seek to take us on in the future!
