Sparta , by Caesar Alan

City ID = 41
Date Submitted = 2000-11-21

Author's Description:

Sparta:

Episode one is relatively trouble-free: I start with the weapons industry and begin to crank out the cash. When my first housing block is stable at Hovel, I start another (I hold back on the fleece to prevent me from winning this episode just yet), and build a sizeable statue industry. Much money is made selling those and I finally release the fleece when I have 20000 Dr in the bank.

Episode 2 is time for sanctuary-building. I start, not with Ares, but with Hephaestus! With the big man blessing (and quadrupling output of) both my armories and sculpture studios, I really rake the cash in... I run up the sanctuary to Ares, and lay out the skeletons for my two elite blocks. When I have a sufficiently excessive amount of cash, send Ares and the boys to whip Olympia into shape...

In Episode 3 elite housing is the order of the day. I build and develop 24 Estates, and add a sanctuary to Apollo. Artemis would have been more useful, but I wasn't to know there are no monsters in Sparta. I also conquer the entire world, only to lose half of my conquests at the start of episode 4 (blasted pre-programmed events!)

Episode 4 is Ithaca... which is described elsewhere!

Episode 5 I did in two ways: fast and slow. Both cities are in this zip file. The fast save is the result of simply sending my army to roll over Athens at the start of the episode: three months later I win. The slower route involved waiting for my sanctuary to Artemis, conquering the entire world, and then laying waste to Athens... You can decide which is better!
