As you enter the Slums, a shady fellow named Gaelan Bayle will approach you. He seams to know about Imoens kidnapping, and he has a solution. All that you need to do is follow him back to his house to hear him out. Gaelan will tell you that his friends can take on the Cowled Wizards and return Imoen to you for the "small" price of 20,000 gold. He will go a bit further, and point you towards his partner, Arledrian; who is upstairs. Arledrian will sell you a few general supplies, including the "Glasses of Identification" (A very handy item for identifying things).

Now, take Gaelan's suggestion, and head for the Copper Coronet. As you exit Gaelan's home, his nephew Brus will be waiting for you. He will offer to guide you across the Slums. Accept his offer...

(1) Gaelan Bayle's home.

(2) Location that Brus will take you too.

(3) The Copper Coronet.

(4) The Slavers Ship.

(5) Empty House. Inside you can find a "note to Mr.Ployer".

(6) Jan Jansen's home.

(7) Storekeep - General Supplies.

(8) Empty House (over 100 gold can be found inside).

(9) Temple of Ilmater.

(10) Access to the "Planar Sphere"

After you have visited the Copper Coronet, you may want to explore the city. Be warned, the Slums are crawling with Muggers and Thieves.

Follow up: Chapter two begins with Gaelan Bayle's offer, and ends when you return with the payment. There are a lot of quests a long the way, but you do not need to do them all. There is also an "evil" alternative to paying Gaelan Bayle (which effects the game).
