Continuing
Hendak's Quest to free the slaves, you find yourself inside a ship that
has permanently docked along the shores of the Slums. Depending
on how you choose to enter the ship, you will either start at #1
or #7
on the map. We will assume that you entered the area through the Sewers,
and you should start at #1.
(1)
As soon as you enter the Ship, you will be attacked by a group of Slavers. This is not an easy fight, but
with a little preparation, it
should not be too difficult either. You will need to kill "Captain
Haegan" and loot his body for his key (Haegans Key). He
will also drop a suit of "Studden Leather Armor +2",
some potions, and some gold. Be sure to check the room for other items
(such as the box with a pile of Gems inside).
(2)
After the fight with the Slavers, enter the room towards the right. You will find 2
Trolls and a little girl. You need to use fire or acid to
deal the fatal blow to the Trolls (or else you will not kill them).
Basically, you need to destroy the corpse, and both fire or acid will do
that for you. Once the room is safe, speak with the little girl. If you
offer her 100gp to assist her in returning home, you will gain +1 to
your reputation and 3500 exp (well worth the 100 gold).
(3)
On your way through the ship, stop in and free the Slaves in
cabin #3 and #4.
(4)
In cabin #4, you will find another slave that needs to be freed. You will gain 2500 exp for doing
so.
(5)
In cabin #5 you will find a group of mages. These guys can be powerful,
but a few Fireballs or a Stinking Cloud spell tossed inside the room can
turn this battle into a "cake walk". Be sure to check the
corpses for the "Cloak of Protection+1". Check the room for items.
(6)
Watch out for the Salamanders hiding in room #6. They are no real challenge,
but they can be a burden if they attack you during your battle with the
mages. Again, check the room for items.
(7)
In the southwest corner of the map, you will find the Entrance/Exit to the Slaver Ship. Click the area to return to the
Slums
map.
Follow up:
After you have freed the slaves inside the Slave Ship, Return to the
Copper Coronet. When you tell Hendak about the freed slaves, he will
reward you with a few of Lehtinan's "more valuable" items.
These items include an enhanced Bastard Sword, near 4000 gold, and a ton
(and I do mean a ton) of exp.
Also:
If you wanted to buy any of Bernards items earlier, now would be the time to
buy them. If you check his prices, you should see a large discounted difference.
