Character Creation (cont.)

Promotion
Crusader: The crusader offers two more hit points per level and one more spell point per level. This rank also lets the paladin gain another level of skill in the self magics. Sir Charles Quixote in Erathia gives you the promotion quest to crusader. It is a very tough quest, since you must slay a blue dragon in Tatalia called Wormthrax. Sir Quixote will join your party once you take the quest, and when you finally muster up the power to slay Wormthrax, he will appear and promote you. He isn't any help during battle, though. Wormthrax, as a blue dragon, has a massive number of hit points and deals a good deal of water-based damage via his breath weapon. Be sure to cast a protection for water spell on your party and stock up on fireball wands. You'll need to advance a few more levels after you get this quest before you complete it.

Hero: The hero is the final level for the good paladin. You get two more hit points and one more spell point per level at this rank. You can also study up to grandmaster in mace and shield. Sir Charles Quixote also gives you this quest. Sir Quixote's quest is in direct opposition to the villain promotion quest. You must rescue Alice Hargreaves, who has been kidnapped and is being held in William Setag's tower in Deyja. The tower is small and guarded by some initiates of the sword. Once you get past them, you can take on William Setag himself, who is a master of the sword. Kill him and get a key from his body, which opens up the room where Alice is kept. Speak to her and take her back to Sir Quixote. He'll then promote you to hero rank.

Villain: Once you choose the path of evil, Sir Quixote will have nothing to do with you. So you must turn to William Setag in Deyja to be promoted to the evil side's counterpart to the hero: the villain. William Setag will promote you to villain (exactly the same as the hero) if you kidnap Alice Hargreaves. Alice lives in Castle Gryphonheart, and get to her, you must battle a gauntlet of initiates of the sword. When you find Alice's room, click on her and bring her back to William Setag. You're officially a villain.

Next: Archer
