Character Creation
The character guide is the
first section you should read because it reveals all the information you
need on each of the game's character classes. We go over their strengths
and weaknesses, their skills and potential advancement, their rank advancements,
and general comments. After reading this section, you'll know what each
class is capable of and how each class would fit into a perfect party
mix.
What You Need
in a Party
The dangers of Erathia are
many. There are fantastic beasts to fight, perilous magic to face, and
dastardly villains to confront. In addition, the terrain of Erathia herself
can sometimes bedevil you with seemingly insurmountable peaks and uncrossable
oceans. Here is what every party in the game needs.

Every party needs a healer and an elemental mage. |
A Self Magic Spellcaster
Every party needs healing magic, protection magic, and status cures. Status
cures are spells that cure negative conditions, such as poison, disease,
and weakness. A sorcerer can't perform them. But a spellcaster versed
in the Self schools of magic can. This group of spellcasters includes
the cleric, druid, and paladin. The monk has access to self magic, but
you can't really call this inept caster a self magician. If you have a
monk, you might as well not have a self spellcaster. The other three classes
can each progress to master level in self magic. The cleric can also go
to grandmaster level, making them very useful for curing and healing your
party. You'll meet a lot of creatures that poison you, disease you, and
continually bring you to low or critical hit-point levels. Buying healing
potions can get pretty expensive, and they can't match the healing power
of a cleric or druid. Each party should have at least one self magic spellcaster.
