Character Creation (cont.)

Archer
The archer is the counterpart to the paladin, except that it is a knight-sorcerer instead of a knight-cleric. However, the archer has one up on the paladin by being the best bowman in the game. The archer is a lethal long-range shooter and is the only class that can take the bow skill to grandmaster level. It is not as good as the paladin in close-range combat, since it can only master the spear. However, it can take the perception skill to grandmaster skill. The archer can also learn elemental magic and take those schools of magic to master level. Because of this, the archer can act not only as your sharpshooter, but also as a good source of attack spells.

The archer isn't very helpful in noncombat skills, but is always helpful as a long-ranged attacker and spellcaster. Archers need high accuracy as well as good intellect and speed. Elves make excellent archers, followed by humans.
