The market is vital to your success and should be one of the first Tool Age buildings you construct. The market lets you research technology of immense value - woodworking, stone mining, etc., and in the Bronze Age, the wheel. The market also allows you to build farms. Market Tips: None, other than to build this quickly and get to the Bronze Age as fast as you can to research the wheel and get that +30 percent speed boost for your villagers.
Farming is an important part of your food collection, but you should exhaust all the nearby wildlife and berries before building any farms. Farm Tips: You can have several villagers work a farm if you are in a pinch for open space. This will increase your food collection rate.
Walls can be invaluable for slowing down the enemy, letting your archers get in several shots before they break through. Small Wall Tips: You can click and hold the mouse button then drag the mouse to build multiple sections of wall at once. Your villager will construct the wall section by section.
The stable is an important Tool Age building, since it allows you to produce scouts, which are essential for uncovering the map, and later cavalry that can devastate infantry. There's a reason why Richard III wanted to trade his kingdom for a horse. Stable Tips: Use scouts to find the resources you need and to annoy the heck out of your opponent by attacking his villagers.
Bowmen in the Tool Age can be very powerful in clusters, and the better archery units in the latter ages are an essential part of your army, so you'll want several archery ranges later on. Archery Range Tips: A small pack of bowmen can do a lot of damage to unsuspecting villagers, thereby slowing down your opponent's resource gathering. Perhaps a Tool Age quick-strike force is in order.
