After taking
the Nuts from the Tree in the Palace, and after opening the water (by
placing the Stone Harp and Stone Horn on the statues), you will find
yourself at the Tree of Life. As soon as you enter, Ellesime will speak
with you, giving you instructions for what must be done.
You will need
to kill the 3 Parasites that Irenicus is using to drain the Tree of Life
of it's power. Once that has been done, you will need to face off
against Irenicus himself. You will need to use the "Tree of Life
Nuts" to build bridges to areas that you normally could not reach.
To do this, just walk to an area and the Nut will be used automatically.

Parasite #1 - When you try to attack it, 2 Fire Elementals
will appear. You will need to deal with them before finishing the
Parasite off.

Parasite #2 - When you try to attack it, 2 Air Elementals will appear.
Kill them, and then kill the Parasite.
4.
Parasite #3 - When you try to attack it, 2 Earth Elementals will appear.
Kill them, and then kill the Parasite.
5.
Rematch with Irenicus - After killing the 3 Parasites, you will be warped directly before
Irenicus. There is some dialogue that happens, and then the fighting
begins.
Irenicus is
pretty tough at first. He casts enough shield spells that your weapons
will not harm him, and your spells will not target him. If you have the
7th level "Ruby Ray of Reversal" spell, you should make good
use of it in this fight. If you do not have that spell, it may be a good
idea to haste your entire group, and wait until Irenicus casts these
spells. At that point, have your group all run away from Irenicus, to
the other side of the map (well not that far, but out of the range of
his spells). Give it a minute or so... Until the effects of his
shielding spells wear off. Once Irenicus's shielding is down, your
fighters should be able to take him out very quickly.
After your
party defeats Irenicus, you will all be Dragged off to *****
(censored to prevent spoiler).
