If you agreed to help Nalia when she approached you in the Copper Coronet, you will need to venture across the world map to the "De' Arnise Keep". When you arrive, Nalia will update you on the situation. Apparently, the Trolls have seized the keep, and are holding a few people inside. Nalia informs you that it would be suicide to attempt a frontal assault (also, the drawbridge is up). A few of the people managed to escape the Keep, and they are held up in a small protected area, waiting for others who may escape.

     

(1) When you enter the area, head for the small "Fort" in the southwest of the area. Speak with Captain Arat for further information about the "Troll situation". He will also extend an offer of assistance to you, if you can get the drawbridge down, he and the others who have escaped will enter and assist you. [Note: You will be unable to lower the drawbridge from outside. You will need to Enter the Keep before you can access the drawbridge controls.] 

     

Directly north of Captain Arat's Fort, you will find a cluster of bushes. The secret entrance will be behind the bushes, but to find it, you will need to "discover" it. Simply place your party in the location marked on the map above (marked by the small navigation icon), and wait a few seconds. A secret door (pink in color) should appear. After that happens, you will be free to enter the Keep.

 

[Note: #2 and #3 are not accessible until after you have entered the secret entrance]

(2) A pack of dogs. Do not feel sorry for these animals. Each of them may have a name, and may be friendly towards you, but they need to be butchered (more info on that once we enter the Keep).

(3) On top of the "Ramparts" of the Keep, there is a wench that activates the drawbridge. You will have access to this area after you have entered the secret entrance, and worked your way through the first floor. You will need to open the drawbridge to allow Captain Arat into the Keep. After you have completed this entire quest, and when you exit the Keep, make sure to exit out the drawbridge instead of the secret entrance. If you leave the Keep while the drawbridge is down, when you return, you will be unable to re-enter.

 

[Spoiler Warning! Because of the nature of Nalias quest, some information that will happen later will be listed on this page. Read below at your own risk. I suggest that you skip the text below, and come back when you find missing information, or if you need more information after you venture further into the Keep.]

          

Follow up: Once you have saved the Keep, be sure to return to the forge located on level 1 of the keep. If you found all 3 of the Flail pieces (which are all marked through this section), you will be able to create the "Flail of the Ages +3". 

If you are a fighter (your main character), Nalia will ask you to assume control over the Keep. Otherwise, she will abandon her home. 

Open the drawbridge one last time before you leave the Keep for good.

 

Also: For this quest, you will enter and exit the Keep from several locations. I have marked a few important locations on the map above (#2 and #3), but you will need to enter the Keep before you will have access to these two locations.
