Once
you have a Demon Heart, return to the room with the runes on the floor,
and enter the Power Core. Your objective is to activate the Sphere so
that you can return home. To do this, you will need to place a Demon
Heart on the Golem in the Power Core (if only it were that easy...) (1)
As you enter the Power Core area, a Cowled Wizard named Tolgerias and a
mage will attack you. These 2 Cowled Wizards are a lot stronger then the
ones that you may have fought in the City Streets (if you cast magic in
the City areas). They cast high level protection spells, summon high
level creatures (Monster Summoning III, Summon Nishruu, Wyvern Call,
etc). You may want to rush these 2 with Summons of your own, but the
best tactic is to cast Pierce Magic on Tolgerias, and then send your
best fighter in (Hasted of course) to take him out. You may still want
to create summons to act as cannon fodder. Once
Tolgerias drops, check his body for the "Ring of Ram". (2)
You have the option to go to room #2, room
#3, or both... In
room #2 you will need to deal with a Greater Fire Elemental (notice that
said GREATER), an Efretti, and an assortment of lesser creatures
(including Salamanders). In the center of the room you will find the
"Staff of Fire +2" and the "Shield of the
Falling Stars". (3)
In the center of #3 you will find the "Helm of Defense",
guarded by a few (non-lethal) Ice Salamanders. (4)
In the center of the final room is a large Golem. This is
where you place the Demon Heart. Be careful of the Golems in the area.
They are not too powerful by themselves, but the problem is the small
catwalks. It is easy to create road blocks where a more vulnerable
character may be left to deal with a Golem. (5)
Before you exit the room, check the area in the NE for a few items. Be
careful to disarm the trap before diving in for the goodies. You will
find 6666 gold, gems, and the "Ring of Danger Sense". Follow
up: After you have used the Demon Heart on the Golem, you need to
head back to Lavok in the Navigator's Room. Speak with him, and he will
take you outside of the Sphere. This will end the Quest for you, and if
your main Character is a Wizard, you will gain control over the Planar
Sphere. |
