Character Creation (cont.)

Promotions
Rogue: The rogue is the second rank to the thief. The rogue gains two more hit points per level than the thief and also gains the ability to cast elemental spells. You get the promotion quest from Bill Lasker in Erathia. Bill is a master thief hidden in the sewers of Erathia. Lasker asks you to steal a vase from Lord Markham's manor in Tatalia. Markham is a bit of an ass, so you should have no compunction about stealing from your former sponsor. Lord Markham's manor is pretty small, but you must fight a few initiates of the sword to get the vase. The vase is guarded by a trap, so make sure you have maximum hit points before taking it. When you return to Lasker, he will promote you to rogue.

Spy: The spy rank is the good master thief. The spy gets two more hit points and can finally progress to grandmaster level in some skills. Although Bill Lasker is a thief, he isn't a friend to the dark side, so he will give you the promotion quest to spy. All you must do to prove your worth to Lasker is break into watchtower six in Deyja and move the counterweight. To do that, just break in; avoid or battle the earth elementals, necromancers, and liches inside; and rush up to the second floor room that has the controls for the tower counterweight. Just hit the button inside the room and return to Lasker. You are now a spy.

Assassin: If you chose evil, your thief will become an assassin as his final rank. Seknit Undershadow in Deyja gives you this promotion quest. Undershadow will promote you if you to kill Lady Eleanor Carmine and bring back her knife as proof. She is a resident of Celeste and walks around the outside of Castle Lambent. She wears a red dress. You can get the knife by killing her or stealing it from her. You don't really have to kill Lady Eleanor; you just have to bring back the knife. The endeavor is dangerous because the entire city is guarded by rocs, sorcerers, and angels. Once you get the knife, rush back to Seknit, and he will promote you.
