Character Creation
(cont.)
Party Creation
Now, let's get onto creating
that party. Creating a party is the most important thing you do. It determines
how easy or tough the rest of the game will be. Choose a party with no
healers, and you will be in for a tough time. Create a party of archers
and rangers, and you'll have great long-range firepower, but poor magic
use and substandard melee strength. The default party for the game is
a knight, a thief, a cleric, and a sorcerer. We'll go over the strengths
and weaknesses of the default party as well as three other party templates.
These templates are for those who want a strong magic party, a strong
physical party, or a party with great long-ranged attacks. Last, we'll
go over each individual class and its pros and cons.

When creating your party, you can afford to reduce your characters'
luck, since you can use a fountain in Emerald Isle to magically boost
your luck ability. |
Default Party
Knight/Thief/Cleric/Sorcerer
The default party is a good all-around choice. You have a strong fighter,
good attack spells, good healing spells, and the ability to disarm traps
and steal from shops and creatures. While this party gives you a good
range of options, it isn't necessarily strong in any one area. You could
create parties stronger in physical attacks or magical attacks. However,
for beginners, this is a good party, as it you fight up close, cast the
full range of spells, and disarm traps.
Pros:
Good all-around party; can cast all spells, disarm traps, and learn all
skills
Cons: Poor in long-range attacks; not the best party for physical
attacks
