Plot Overview (cont.) As a servant of the dark, you are given a test to prove your worth. You must run a gauntlet of monsters in the Breeding Zone. You don't have to kill everything inside, you just have to get from the entrance to the exit in one piece and return to Archibald. Unfortunately, there are behemoths in this dungeon, so you must be really tough or invisible to survive. After passing this test, you are given over to four of the dark side's most powerful stewards: Maximus, Dark Shade, Kastore, and Tolberti (you might recognize some of them from Heroes of Might and Magic). They each have a quest for you, but you can't get Tolberti's quest until you finish the other three.
Maximus asks you to bring back some soul jars from the warlocks in Thunderfist mountain in Nighon... by any means necessary - that means by bribery or sheer force. The dungeon in Thunderfist mountain is full of minotaurs, warlocks, and floating eyes, so it is a tough quest to complete. An easier one might be Kastore's quest. He asks you to retrieve lost altar pieces from both the Temple of Light and the Temple of Dark. The Temple of Light is in Celeste and guarded by angels and clerics of the sun. The Temple of Dark is in the Pit of Deyja, but its monsters won't bother you, since you are also a servant of the dark. While you'll have to fight through the Temple of Light's monsters to get the altar pieces within, you can simply walk through the Temple of Dark and pick up the dark pieces without interference. Dark Shade's quest calls for you to go back to the Tularean forest. He asks you to clear out Clanker's laboratory and destroy the teleport shield that prevents the necromancers from magically transporting to the lab. Just go inside the laboratory, which sits on an island in east Tularea, and clear out the gogs, golems, and floating eyes. When you complete all three quests, Tolberti gives you his quest: to kill the good side's chief advisor, Robert the Wise in Celeste. Killing one man is harder than it seems, since Robert the Wise is a blaster guy (yes, that is the official name for this "creature") and resides in the angel-infested city of Celeste. Once you complete this final quest, you are asked to see Kastore, who has usurped Archibald as ruler in Castle Gloaming in the Pit of Deyja.
