Warrior
Character ClassMaster
of melee, the Warrior commands the potential to
slaughter any and all of Diablo's minions in
vicious hand-to-hand combat. He is the strongest
character at the beginning of the quest and an
ideal choice for beginners or those seeking
nonstop action. The Warrior must constantly work
to improve his strength so that he can use the
best weapons he finds. His life power increases
at twice the rate of the other classes - and
fortunately so, for he will face the fury of
Diablo's beasts head-on. Dexterity is also
important to the Warrior: A high armor class and
hit percentage means the Warrior can fight at
maximum efficiency and deal with individual
opponents faster. The Warrior has little
proficiency with magic and thus should not meddle
much (if at all) in matters arcane. The Healing
Power, Town Portal, and a handful of basic ranged
elemental spells are as far as the Warrior should
go in his magic studies. Rather than waste his
training points on magic, the Warrior is instead
advised to carry with him those weapons or armor
which boost his potential for spell casting. His
ability to fix equipment on the road can mean the
difference between plate protection and death,
though using this skill decreases the maximum
durability of the repaired item.
Each time the Warrior gains a level, he earns
two life points and one magic point
automatically. His physical attack power
increases much faster than the other characters',
and he fights and recovers from damage much
quicker than the other classes. However, he is
fairly slow with ranged weapons and very sluggish
about casting magic spells, so much that he
cannot use magic effectively in the heat of
battle.
