Egypt Section opens!
inally!  I am proud to announce the opening today of the Pharaoh Heaven Egypt Section, which will (if my vision of it ever actually comes to pass) be your one-stop shop for information about Egypt.  For the moment, it's still in its embryonic stage, but there is nevertheless the first part of my History of Egypt (with comments and pictures by Angel Jayhawk).  This is what I did whilst I was away on holiday, but for various reasons hasn't been posted until now.  There's only the Old Kingdom there at the moment. but I'm hoping to finish all of the historical stuff up to the end of the New Kingdom within a couple of weeks (before I head off to Germany).

Pharaoh Newsletter #2 is out!
eez...what is the world coming to?  I pop online for a second to see whether I can find a font i'm looking for to use on the icons for my PH project (all will be revealed soon), and the second edition of the Pharaoh newsletter pops into my inbox.

As usual with these things, I've html-ised it, and it's currently sitting in the Pharaoh Heaven Newsletter Archive, waiting for you to view it (in case you haven't subscribed yet).  It's well worth reading, if only for the comments made by Impressions's Chris Beatrice on the bazaar ladies.  If you want to subscribe and get it delivered directly to your inbox, then you can do so at the official Pharaoh site.

On the boards
eta testing isn't just about getting an early copy of the game which you can play indefinitely.  At least not where Itchy's involved.  Read this comment, taken from the official site's forum:

We will send out more invites beyond that if those who did sign up for the beta test and were asked to test do not provide feedback. So far only around 25% of those selected to beta test have provided feedback on the Beta Forum; anyone who doesn't provide will be dropped and additional beta testers will be chosen.

Ok, so now any of you recalcitrant beta testers have been warned.  If you don't provide feedback, you'll be dropped.  Well, I guess it gives hope for anyone out there who hasn't received the email saying that they've been accepted into the programme.  So Chus, don't lose heart yet!

One final item for today.   Please let me, on behalf of all the staff and visitors of Pharaoh Heaven, wish Angel Omnivac of Age of Kings Heaven all the best - he's in hospital not feeling too well right now.  Get well soon Omni!

Album recommendation:  Fastball's "All the Pain Money Can Buy".  It's fantastic:).

Still looking for questions
he Alex Rodberg Interview approaches fast - I'll be meeting up with him on Friday week, so you'll have to get your question submissions in quickly if you want me to consider asking them.  We've had some really good ones so far, but I'm sure there are more out there waiting to be asked!

Angel Jayhawk made a welcome return on Caesar III Heaven yesterday - he and I will return to our normal one week on - one week off news rota, so he'll be here next week, whilst I'll be flying above Rome in my diesel-powered cloud (one for anyone who read the early C3H stories in the forum there).

I've nearly finished part one of my project which I started when I was on holiday a few weeks back.  Sorry it's taken so long - it's proving much, much bigger than I anticipated.  Look for that over the weekend.  I promise you it'll be worth your while!

Life along the Nile
s you can all see, there's a new feature here on the Pharaoh Heaven news page today.  So, what is it?, I hear you ask.  If you've ever been to Caesar III Heaven, you'll know of the "Building a Roman City" feature, in which various factiods about life in Rome appear, a different one each time you log on (until you've seen them all).  This is exactly the same, with the difference that there are many, many more titbits for you to sink your teeth into.

It's the result of a collaboration involving several Angels - Angel Draco did loads of hard work getting all the factiods together, Angel Mack was kind enough to get the script up and running, and I inputted Angel Draco's factoids into the script.  I hope you all think it's worth it.   As always, comments can be posted in the Website Comments forum, or emailed to me.  Oh, I know that the poll isn't working now.  Wierd one that.  Still, Angel Mack is on the case, so I'm sure it'll be solved.

*sigh*
hy oh why can't somebody come up with an internet connection that doesn't drop every 5 minutes?  That's partly the explanation behind this update spanning 2 days.  The other part will be shared on Caesar III Heaven shortly;).  Still, I'm using my backup connection now, so I can update.

Something that's been in the forum for a little while but which hasn't been showcased here on the news page yet (because of the beta) is a lovely pic by Angel Jayhawk of the gilded chair found in Tutankhamun's tomb.  Check it out here.

Man, I wish FedEx delivered on weekends...
