pyramid.jpg (1125 bytes) After a surprising attack of the Nubian-Kushite alliance, all of Upper Egypt has fallen to the enemies... Only a few days after you returned from your mission to Tyre and Gaza, Pharaoh has called you again.

"I know you should be resting, but there isn't time for it. Nubian and Kushite armies are still advancing. They know that the only way to defeat us is to cut off any routes that supply wood for chariots, food or other basic necessities. We have to strike back soon, so we need chariots made from high quality wood, quickly.

"You have proven to me you are an excellent governor, especially when diplomacy and efficiency of production were needed. You will go to the island of Cyprus, and establish a small colony there. I will send our best chariot makers with you, so that you can supply our army with the much needed chariots."

You slowly begin to realize what is asked of you, and you feel this mission should not be that difficult. Throw up a quick village, a dock and a chariot industry.

"You can and will also supply us with beer. Now that we have almost the entire Egyptian army here in Bubastis, we are in need of much more beer. The barley fields in Itjtawy may fall to the Hyksos at any moment. You can import barley in Cyprus and send us the beer when we need it."

Mentally you add skilled brewers to the list of craftsmen you must take to Cyprus. The village is growing a bit larger in your mind. Still, not a bad assignment and surely glory will come to you from supplying the chariots to save Egypt. Besides, having a little beer in the village will make the time pass nicely.

"Oh, one more thing," the Pharaoh says. "We should establish our presence on Cyprus forever. The city you build must prosper and since I intend to send my favorite nephew there as a governor later, you have to build an appropriate residence for him... and you should also build a pyramid that will hold his mortal remains after he enters the Field of Reeds."

After a short silence Pharaoh says, "That is all. Go and do as I have told you." You let out a small sigh and then leave the building to head directly for the docks. You have a mission to accomplish.

Good luck to you!

  • Message of granite price increase each December is reminder to save; has nothing to do with game play.
  • Concentrate on the CC as defined about, and don't let yourself be confused by the original winning conditions if you played Moquel's version!
  • Novices will get a chance to export beer for some time, but not Experts; all players have to meet several requests for beer.
  • You can save the game at any moment after the CC is met, but not later than AD Dec 15. Both CC and WC will be checked in the moment of submission.
  • Highest housing level will be checked twice - once in moment of submission and then again after 3 months; the lower of the two values will be considered your result. It does not matter how many such houses or how many people living in them.
  • For more information see the appropriate event FAQ in the Competition Corner.
