JavaTM Technology & XML
RESOURCES
Along with the documentation, APIs, and study aids that are presented
on this Web site, many outside resources are available. Here are a
few:
XML at SUN
This is the main XML web site at Sun.
It highlights Sun's involvement in developing open XML standards and
contains links to standard organizations, white papers,
developer information,
news and many other useful resources.
The XML Cover Pages
The XML Cover Pages
is a comprehensive online reference work for the Extensible Markup
Language (XML) and its parent, the Standard Generalized Markup
Language (SGML). The reference collection features extensive
documentation on the application of the open, interoperable "markup
language" standards, including XSL, XSLT, XPath, XLink, XPointer,
HyTime, DSSSL, CSS, SPDL, CGM, ISO-HTML, and others. The XML Cover
Pages is currently sponsored by OASIS (Organization for the
Advancement of Structured Information Standards) and four OASIS
Members: ISOGEN International
Corp, Software AG, Sun Microsystems, and webMethods.
WDVL.com's
XML Area
WDVL.com, "The Web Developer's Virtual Library," is an online
publication of internet.com. WDVL.com's XML page is an excellent
gateway into many different sources of information about XML.
developerlife.com
The developerlife.com Web site contains one of the first XML and
JavaTM 2 platform tutorials
available on the Web, along with a collection of articles about XML
technology. The developerlife.com tutorials show how to use Java 2
technology, Project Swing components, servlets, JDBCTM technology, and RMI APIs to create
real-world applications utilizing Java technology and XML. The
tutorials and articles on this site come with complete source files
that are available for downloading.
XML.com
XML.com is an online newsletter published by Seybold Publications and O'Reilly & Associates, Inc.
XML.com features a rich mix of information and services for the XML
community. The site is designed to serve both people who are already
working with XML and those HTML users who want to "graduate" to XML's
power and complexity. A core feature of the site is the Annotated XML
Specification, created by Tim Bray, co-editor of XML 1.0 and a
contributing editor for XML.com.
XML FAQ
The XML FAQ page is
maintained on the Internet on behalf of the World Wide Web
Consortium's XML Special Interest Group by Peter Flynn, (University
College Cork), with the collaboration of a number of other XML
exports. One special feature of this page is "The XML
Files," a query-and-response form on which readers can comment on
the page's contents and ask new questions of their own.
Java
Industry ConnectionSM: XML
The Java Industry
Connection is a website published by Sun Microsystems which
presents news items in the wide range of industries where
JavaTM technology is being used.
