Desc: I have a tough assignment for you this time. Our eastward expansion is stalled in the province of Illyrieum. As you know, the ancient land route to Aegyptus and Syria passes through this province. Your problem in completing this assignment will lie with the strong local tribes, the Serbs and the Croatians. You will not find anything to tell the difference between them, but they have fought each other since time began. Because of this, they are tough and good fighters. Expect both tribes to suspend hostilities between themselves, and attack you. They have done this twice to other forces sent before you. I must have the road opened and defended. I want you to build a modest city on one of the small rivers, and bring Pax Romana to these belligerent barbarians. In addition, locate and re-establish the ancient trade road. Because of the risk involved and my desire to see this trade route opened quickly I am prepared to be generous with your initial funds. I do not expect too high an achievement in your evaluation marks. In truth, surviving and defeating the barbarians will almost be enough. The province is abundant in all of the things you will need but has a somewhat difficult terrain. Oh, there is a bright note. The salt marshes on the coast of Illyrieum are the home of the Eastern Aegean sea bass. I recommend that you try some of this wonderful food, after you have cleared these barbarians from my road.
