In this scenario, you are expected to build a military town near the city of
Tarentum at the Gulf of Tarentum. You have 10 years to raise an army, build
the town and set up trade. Rome's incursion into this area is a result of it's
wars with the Samnite people now subjugated. But, after having some consider-
able amount of time building a Roman presence in this region, the Greeks of
Tarentum feel the threatening power and expansion of Rome. So be on the
alert. They will send massive armies to decimate your garrison and town and
they will even request and acquire the services of Pyrrhus and his mercenary
armies. This Pyrrhic war will begin at 280 BC. Your legions might be needed
so make sure to keep them strong, well rested and experienced. This region is
enormous so try not to keep your legions too far apart so that they could support
each other and not have less ground to travel to deal with a hotspot.
