It is about the sacking of the splendid city of Corinth by the Romans in 146BC, a crucial year, as it featured the end of Macedonian and Carthaginian independence as well. From this year on Rome's position as undisputed master of the Mediterranean was a fact.

It is the task of the player to build op a city while under attack by the Macedonians, who desperately try to reestablish their regional hegemony as champions of the Hellenistic world. After the historical sacking of Corinth most military action will be concentrated on distant battles and occasional raids by locals. Requests can be troublesome as the amounts of goods demanded are rising during the game esp. after 146BC. High prosperity- and culture rates are required, as everything needed to build luxury palaces is available in this city, though key-resources must be imported. All trade is over sea so docks have to be built. Price fluctuations go generally with the requests made by the empire. There is enough fertile land available, but enemy-invasions tend to take place near it, so some careful planning is in order. Alternatively fishing is possible here.
