Dacia is ready for settlement now that Decebalus, who has been a nuisance to the empire for a long time, has finally been crushed. Emperor Trajan is wasting no time in consolidating this new province by ordering you to establish a prosperous and cultured city.
Some Romans from Asia Minor have been "encouraged" to serve the Empire by migrating into the newly conquered lands. The city will be situated along the banks of the Danube, below the rugged foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. Although most organized resistance has been obliterated by Trajan, the Goths may provide some action. Warring native tribes have also been spotted, though they will only serve to amuse you once your defenses are well established.
Because your city is on the frontier of the Empire, few trade routes are available. As a result, the natives living in the northern hills will be valuable trading partners, especially if a landslide were to occur.
Trajan will demand only small quantities of goods from you as he is preoccupied with his campaigns in the East. Hadrian, his successor, will be far more demanding since he questions Dacia's value to the Empire. Expect him to request iron in large amounts as he tests the profitability of the province's mines.
During this period, the Roman Empire was at its height. You must make the grandeur of Rome clear to the natives of this region, as well as securing a foothold in the province for further Roman settlement.
Note: Two bridges must be built to complete the road to Rome.
