InDemand is a good training mission, and also a good change if you are bored with endless population or Prosperity based assignments. As there is no real description of the scenario provided by the author (hence the rating of "1" for "Story/Instructions"), I will try to supply it here:
Your only goal is to reach a Favor rating of 100 - there are no Prosperity, population, or other targets. You are given 13 years, which should be enough for everybody. Starting funds of 20,000 means that you don't have to bother with money. With a few lavish gifts you can win in
4 years, but that would spoil the fun. Instead, try to complete it without a single gift! Caesar will request a lot, including things that you can only import or produce from import materials. The request amounts keep growing considerably over time, and the deadlines are usually 1
year, so building many warehouses and stockpiling is advised.
This game requires a different approach than most assignments, mainly because you can't build everything. Among disallowed buildings are small temples and most entertainment type buildings (only the Theater and Actor's Colony are allowed). No temples can be built unless you produce enough marble. All
of this only emphasizes the need for a quick start to production. Note that the h4ighest possible housing level, due to these building restrictions, is Large Casa.
On the whole, I think I can recommend this mission for those who are seeking a diversion from the normal goals, or who want practice before advancing to more challenging tasks. The scenario might have been made more interesting by requiring a Peace rating of 40 or 50 that would make the player
keep going until the 11th or 12th year. I rather enjoyed the combination of attacks, requests, and price changes in the last 5 or 6 years.
