When you first start this scenario it seems challenging enough. It has a rugged coastline and a multitude of islands. At first, food distribution isn’t a problem, but as your city becomes larger people want a different type of food, this is where the problems start. As I mentioned before there are many islands, these islands form a sort of zigzagged path to the open sea…..You might not think this is a problem but the thing is that the only fishing points are in the open sea at the bottom. This poses a problem since it takes a very long time for your boats to reach the fishing points and come back, thus you have a constant array of evolving/devolving houses, this is what kept me from achieving the desired prosperity level in a short period of time. The requirements a fairly easy for experienced players, but are sure to be a good challenge for beginners.
The attacks are fairly moderate and the strategic position of the rocks and trees gives you a natural barrier against the attacks. Build a few walls and towers and may be one javelin or horse fort and you will be in no danger. Exports are good and resources are plentiful. The most disappointing thing about his scenario is that for it’s size the population requirement is extremely low (5000). Another thing that brings down the rating of this scenario is that the Favor target is only 50 and there are demands practically every year or two. Even beginners can achieve a 90 or higher rating in a very short period of time if they just keep Caesar pleased. The overall look of the map is one that you don’t see too often, I thought it was great. If the requirements and attacks were increased this would be an excellent map.
