There are a number of pleasures to be savored in this engaging scenario.
First off, the author's introduction helps you get nicely in the mood for a few hours in Caesar's world.
The map he's designed also has a fresh, interesting, very natural feel to it, presenting you with challenging choices right off the bat.
You're up against the Gauls in this one (how they got into Tarraco I'm not sure, but...), and the author has spaced out his battles nicely over a range of years.
The military die-hard may get frustrated, the battles are never huge, but the player looking for a good mix of some military activity, some city building,
and some good terrain could do much worse than downloading The North Plains.
The one thing which hurts this scenario is that the events have been spread out across too many years, so there are numerous slow stretches where there ain't
much happening. I, for one, will be looking forward to Michael's next design submission. Good work.
