Province: Central
Before you do anything on this map, you will need to attach a low bridge to the Empire Road exit and a ship bridge to the Empire Road entrance. If you don't do this, then no immigrants will be able
to get to your new city.
Otherwise, the scenario is nice, but the desciptive name of "peace" doesn't really seem to apply here. When I started playing, and the first year hadn't even passed yet, I received a message about a distant battle.
This got me to thinking - "If this is a peaceful map, and you get messages about distant armies, then what is the "battle" map like?"
This minor detail aside, here is my overall review:
Playability - 3
This scenario is fun, but there are a few things that could have made it better. For example, Rome supplied wheat. Yes, I know that it's a great way to escape those pesky, forgetful market ladies, but it makes the
scenario less challenging.
Creativity - 2
There are no special new things in this scenario, but it still plays well.
Balance - 3
It's challenging every time to set up your industry and fill up your legions with soldiers before the enemy attacks. Still, it could have been more challenging if Rome wasn't supplying wheat.
Map Design - 4
This map looks really good, but why do you need so much farmland when Rome is supplying food? Anyway, the design is good, and the map itself seems to fit the geography of southern Spain.
Story/Instructions - 4
The instructions are right to the point, they are not long, and they explain all that you need to play this scenario.
