Desc: Objectives were met after waiting for peace rating to reach
target, so I assume that my Jan. 210 is the minimum time to completion.
Conventional methods were used, mostly 14x5 and 7x7 housing blocks. I had
several Prefectures across the street from housing. These helped with fire
prevention and did not prevent Grand Insulae in nearby housing. Anywhere from
1/3 to 2/3 of the population lives in Grand Insulae, the fraction varies
depending on where the Lion Tamers have been recently walking. I used basic
simple methods: get my export industry built before working on food, no
loans, centralize export industry and use only one dock, all graneries act as
roads, and avoid dead ends. I did end up with one dead end in the area north
of the farmlands. I did not use any bad housing: labor for the industries and
fishing came from Insulae housing. The small casa area in the far west was
waiting for abundant pottery before trying for an upgrade.
The housing starts were in the area south of the farmlands and on the loop
passing by where I will put docks, warehouses, fishing, workshops, etc. Once
the olives were near completion, I connected the two loops. I then could set
up industries and could gradually add fruit farms and fishing. I have a
number of early saves, showing the development order, if anyone is interested.
