Two lots of towers, in the right places, turned out to be all I needed to repel the invaders. I had built 6 forts already though. Waste of money. Noticed strategy for building in the desert was to put the houses down and let people settle into them before building the prefectures and other things around them. I used rectangular blocks for this one. This is the first time I was able to use gatehouses to keep certain walkers on a short leash. The block design was effective in minimising the number of foutains I needed. The three blocks of houses along the coast were all that was *theoretically* required to meet the population objectives. However, I found myself building the extra houses on the eastern edge because the 3 rectangular blocks were never being fully occupied. Once again, I had a lot of success with the way the industrial area was built. The "supply chain" that ran off them worked very well, but I knew there were better ways, and I got to try those better ways on following levels. In the north-east area is a section of pure entertainment & education, which I used to make my culture rating and enterntainment "coverage" sky high.
