What are the
Olympics...?
Simply a competition,
where players who like the game CAESAR III can try out
their abilities at playing specially prepared games;
and make new friends world-wide...
Why would somebody
organize CAESAR III Olympics...?
That's a very good question, indeed.
We (the ones who came up with the idea at the Heavengames
forum) are still looking for a reasonable explanation.
But one thing is certain: we are having tons of fun...!!!
What do I have to do, in
order to play the Olympics...?
Subscriptions are closed...
How many Games are
there in total...?
18. The first 6 are sent to the players on Friday April 30th or the day before...
Also a Relay game, and you can read in the Rules Page about it.
What if I decide to
play and later don't have the time...?
No problem. You just won't earn many golden medals. It's up to each player how many
of the 18 games you want to make...
What if I am not good
enough at it...?
Are you afraid of being ridiculed...???
No, this is not the circle of people who would do that. These games are pure fun and
sincere friendship...
Can I play if I have
only the Demo version of CAESAR III ?
No... For reasons that are beyond our will, you will have to play with the purchased
version of Caesar III. You will also need the Map Editor installed in your computer.
What is actually the
goal of playing the Olympics...?
Get as many points and medals as you can, and making new friends...
How much time do I
need (per day), if I really want to excel in all 18 of these games...?
About an hour or so, per day... If you want to perfectionate your own times, before you
send us the finished games back, let's say 2 hours...
Can I use the cheats
of CAESAR III...?
No. Wells will be disabled for that purpose, and your rank will be "Proconsul"
in all 18 games, so there is no point in cheating... There are a few thing you can do, and
that's mentioned in the Heavengames forum, and will be posted here by April 14th, in the
Rules Page...
Who will say which is
the winner in each one of these 18 games...?
The Olympic Committee, by using the OWCs. OWC means "Olympic Winning Criteria".
That is what we will ask you to achieve. It will come in a *.txt file accompanying your
*.sav files...
What exactly is an
OWC...?
OWC is what the Olympic Committee will require the player to achieve as fast as possible,
in order to consider the game valid...
Give me an example,
please!
OK. For instance: an OWC could say something like:
"Get two granaries full with meat and reach Culture 10...!!!"
In that case you will have to concentrate on these two points, and nothing else. As soon
as you got it, save the game. If your time is the best, you've gone GOLD...!!!
