Horned Reapers are the fiercest warriors available, but their ferocity has its price and they can't be enlisted through the regular channels. They're terrible researchers, useless in the workshop, they won't group with other monsters, and they're very expensive. As if this wasn't enough, they get annoyed at just about everything (even eating), and an angry Horned Reaper is a terrifying sight: He'll tear through your dungeon, killing anything and anyone that he sees.

So what then are they good for? Well, they're without par in combat, able to take on several Heroes on their own. And often you don't have a choice: Some dungeons come factory-built with Horned Reapers, so you'll just have to make the best of it.

If you find yourself with a Reaper in your midst, here are a few tips for keeping him in line. Don't ever slap him, don't ever wake him if he's sleeping, and don't pick him up too often. There are only a few things that can brighten a Reaper's dreary mood: sleeping, worshiping, gold, and death. The last two seem to work best. If he's getting agitated, shower him with some of your surplus treasure or send him into combat, or at least put him near some dead bodies - even the sight of your dead minions makes him happy. As a last result, put him in the Temple. If he stays, he'll slowly calm down.

To learn how to attract a Horned Reaper to your dungeon, read the section on the Temple.
