On behalf of all bovines suffering from Mad Cow Disease (in itself such a demeaning, insensitive name) I take offensive at this unfunny, derogatory example of what you so callously call a "joke".
I mourn every animal that dies -- nay, suffers -- and while cows may not be as cute as little puppies or as cuddly as baby seals, this does not give you or anyone else the right to make fun of them or their disease-inflicted speech defects.
After all, farmers who have owned BSE-stricken cattle could be reading this very newsgroup right now. And even if they are not, I am! Do you not care for our feelings? What kind of monster are you?
