A Possible Set of Guild Arms

Subject: The Guild of Scribes and Posters

As a result of all the heraldic happiness in FoC, I have, in my position as provisional Herald in Chief of the Guild of Scribes and Posters, been thinking about the guild assuming arms for itself. I suggest something along the lines of:

A computer proper wearing a wide-brimmed hat sable. Supporters: dexter, an orang utan proper; sinister, a human skeleton argent, habited sable. Motto: "Ficcinus Toastatus Vultisne?".

The background has to be either gold or silver, because of the colour of the hat, so I picked gold. The hat is supposed to be like Pterry's, so the central charges refer to writing and the internet. The supporters are obviously the Librarian and Death, and I have perpetrated a pune by putting them on the left and right respectively.

There should be a crest, as well, but I haven't got any particular opinions on that -- perhaps a thunderbolt (to represent electricity and broadcasting, as in the arms of the BBC) or maybe even the whole Discworld (or perhaps that could be the compartment, on which the arms stand). Dunno.

The Herald in Cheif could bear a variation of these arms, viz. Or, a computer proper wearing a wide-brimmed hat sable, on a cheif azure, a Herald. (i.e. the top third or so is blue, and there's a herald on it.) Another pune, of course, since the herald is in cheif. (boom, boom)
