Jayhawk tried out his new wings
There's been a thread in the forum about this for quite a
while now, but I thought I'd bring it to light following Jayhawk's promoton to angelic
status. It's another example of just why he's such a valuable addition to the team.
Have you ever wondered about what the Egyptian calendar was? Well wonder no
more! Let's listen to the hawk:
Month of Thoth, day 17
(Aug.4) Sunset: Festival of the Dead.
Month of Hathor, day 5 (Sep.21) Autumn Equinox, festival of Hathor
Month of Rekhur, day 10 (Dec.25) Birth of Horus
Month of Khonsu, day 8 (Mar.8) Festival of Isis
Month of Heru-Khuiti, day 30 (Jul.13) B'day of Re
Followed by the five extra days
Jul.14 B'day of Osiris
Jul.15 B'day of Heru-Dunawhy
Jul.16 B'day of Set
Jul.17 B'day of Iris
Jul.18 B'day of Nephthys |

Promotion!? Already!?
This won't come as a surprise to any of you, so I'll get
straight to the point. Last week, we appointed our first Pharaoh Heaven Cherub.
Well, this week our only Pharaoh Heaven Cherub has become a Pharaoh Heaven Angel!
Everyone please welcome Angel Jayhawk to
HGS! Over time, he will be helping me and Angel
Alexander I out with the news here, as well as performing various other tasks around
Pharaoh Heaven. Congratulations, AJ!
There's another link for you to check out in our E3
section. E3 Zone is a site dedicated to bringing you the latest news from E3 as it
happens, as well as letting us all know what's happening where. Check it out in the E3 links section.
Don't be too surprised in the news here isn't
updated every day over the next couple of weeks. Until E3 arrives, I'm not really
expecting any great announcements from Impressions about Pharaoh. However, after E3,
there should be loads of great stuff to bring to you here on this very page. So,
please bear with us - it's hard to report non-existant news, but the wait will almost
certainly be worth it!
Depending on what time it is when you're reading
this, it might be worth your while popping over to our sister site Age of Kings Heaven to check out coverage of the Britons
Showcase on GameSpot. Not sure what I'm talking about? Check AoKH out and
Angel Omnivac will fill you in with all the details!

A couple more Pharaoh screenshots...
I was taking a break in my revision schedule today and
decided to surf around the Sierra website.
A wasted journey? I think not! I found a couple of screenshots from
Pharaoh that I hadn't seen before. Before you get all excited, these are not
in-game shots - they look more like the sort of thing one might expect to find
incorporated into the animations which accompany the game. However, they are well
worth checking out, as they give you an idea of the feel that the finished product will
have.
But that's not all I found when I was over there.
I also discovered a page dealing with Sierra's (and therefore Impressions's)
activities at E3. So, if you're interested, check out the E3 Links page.
The forums continue to buzz, and everyone seems
pretty pleased with the new look (well, I haven't heard any complaints voiced in the Website
Comments Forum). To celebrate the new look, Innovandora has
come up with what I consider to be a rather clever little idea about how it might be
possible to make Pharaoh multiplayer:
| I like the idea more of
being able to grow a city with its walls, towers and defenses, then being able to post it
to the internet where other people can attempt invading it with an army they've built from
their own city. People could also have "city challenges" where each player tries
to invade (on their own time at home) the other player's city with his own local army.
Having the AI fill in for people instead of playing real time will allow a lot more
flexibility in schedules for players --particularly when it comes to cross-time zone
international competitions! |
If you want to see the rest of his post, and post
your own comments, then you
can do so here.
Happy Birthday to our hosts, Gamestats! Yup, they have turned 2 years old
today! Congratulations, guys. May you long continue to provide gamers with the
best gaming news on the Net. Hey, better watch out over at Age of Empires Heaven now - I think they turn 2
on the 15th...
