Beta fever strikes
nd it's struck with a
vengeance. The madness is spreading. Click
here to see what I mean.
If you're in the UK / Europe
(I think), then tune in to the History Channel tomorrow, Sunday August 15th, at 6.00pm BST
to see "The Greatest Pharaohs: Legacy of the Nile". It's part 1
of the series tomorrow, and should be worth a look in. If you do get to see it, then
please let us poor folks without cable\satellite what it was like in the forum:).

Beta is here!
here you go - I said it
wouldn't take too long. The Pharaoh beta signup site is live at http://www.pharaoh1.com/main_index.shtml.
It seems like they might
still be having a couple of technical problems - the signup form doesn't seem to like
non-US postcodes, but I'm sure it'll be fixed in good time :).
Signup lasts until August
20th, so get a move on!

Pharaoh beta in the near future?
ere's the news that meny of
our visitors will have been waiting for (if you can judge from the out-of-date poll on the
right - we need ideas
for the next one, by the way). Here's a short but sweet announcement made by Itchy
from Impressions in
the forum:
| Also, we'll have info
regarding the beta test in the near future. |
That makes
sense, especially if they're still shooting for an October release. Age of Kings, due to be released around the same
time as Pharaoh, has already gone beta. Can't be too long to wait now :).

Pharaoh boxshot poll
ust to show that they
really care about their fans and their views, Sierra Studios are holding a poll asking
what people would like to see on the box of Pharaoh. Check out the contest at Sierra's Pharaoh site,
and then feel free to post your comments
on the choices in the forum.
Time for a Jayhawk update,
methinks:
Well, it wasn't the books,
though heavy they were, it wasn't the move itself, it were those misbegotten sons of a
blind mongoose and a flee-ridden chamberpot that work for the phone company...
They lost my application for a new main conenction, I've got the ISDN installed, I would
have gotten the modem, but they haven't put up the bit between the house and street!!! Aarrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!
So, no phone, no modem, no news updates. |
I'll stay in
situ here until the phone company get their act together.

New Pharaoh site opens
he online Pharaoh community
is growing ever larger right now. The latest site to get going is one done by one of
the Caesar III Heaven Cherubs. Anyone who's ever been over there will know Cherub
Baltic. Well, now you can visit his Pharaoh site. Here's what he posted in
the forum:
| Hello everybody! I'm proud to announce that today, 9th August 1999,
my Pharaoh
site has started!
Thanks to all, who have offered their
assistance, especially to Alex Rodberg from Impressions for the exclusive pictures he sent
me, and to my colleagues at HGS for their permission to use some PH pictures.
You are all welcome there, and although most
of you will have problems understanding the text - which is in Czech language - there are
still 3 exclusive screenshots for you, including one showing a large rock that will
probably become Sphinx after some cutting is done. Select "Screens" from menu to
view this page! |
Baltic's site
has been added to the Pharaoh Heaven Links
Page. If you know of any Pharaoh-related sites which aren't on there, then
please let me know and I'll add them asap.
I'll be here and on C3H for
as long as Angel Jayhawk is out of action, by the way;).

Upload Woes at PH Conquered and Fears of an
Early Demise of Jaydude Allayed!
ot to worry, Angel Jayhawk
will be with us soon again. There is quite a discussion in the General forum on just how
much the ole hawkster is missed. My goodness, I wish I had such a dedicated following of
ladies. :-)) Thank you Gustavia for thinking of little old me as well, it's appreciated.
If some of you experienced
viewing problems a few days ago, I apologize. Seems that a few things were changed on the
PH main page since I was last there. All should be fine now.
