pyramid.jpg (1125 bytes) When the last Pharaoh of Mentu dynasty died 5 years ago, and there was no one to ascend to the throne, Egypt was thrown into a turmoil of fighting for supreme power. For five long years, three factions were struggling for the throne until in the end, you managed to negotiate with one of the groups-- against a promise of high ranks in your court-- and received their obligation to support you. The remaining families, led by Itchyjuanchokamhen, understood that it made no sense to continue the fight, and have retreated. Just a few short months ago, you ascended the throne. Itchyjuanchokamhen and those who opposed you rule the Sinai and consider it a separate land, but are willing to maintain friendly relations with Egypt.

As first Pharaoh of the new dynasty, you have decided to build a new capital. A large prosperous city unrivalled in beauty. You have chosen Ahfra-deshala as a site for this Jewel of the Nile. This place is rich in resources, the land is beautiful and the priests assure you it is a favorable location... it is a wonder that no one has thought of building here before. Perhaps it is because the terrain is very broken and transport of goods isn't as easy as some other locations.

While you are building the city and it's monuments-- a guardian Sphinx and two pryramids to show the power of Pharaoh and create a resting place for your family, do not forget about your loyal subjects... and also those who observed your victory but may have silently wished for others to ascend the throne. If you prove to be a wise ruler, who looks after his people and helps when they are in need, it is possible they will become more friendly gradually. Your goal is to unite Egypt again, and should carefully consider your opportunites to win these other cities to your side. You should not forget about appropriate defenses however; although no invasions are expected, Itchyjuanchokamhen and his supporters are watching carefully from the Sinai. If you give them some excuse, they will may attack you.
